Valentine's Day 2014

It all began with a trip to Justice to finish spending Christmas gift cards. And Logan fell in love with "the creeper" and made him her valentine box...and next year's Halloween costume...hopefully!  We didn't create any Valentine boxes for the kiddos this year.  I hope that doesn't make me a bad mom. As long as the kids were ok with that, and they were. Zakk reused his Minion from last year and I guess middle schoolers have grown out of Valentine boxes and planned parties...boo!

Zakk's first school party and they partied all day but I didn't get to visit until the end because that's how they roll at Open Arms and that's ok with me because I've been able to keep my "going to the gym" routine on schedule. When I got there, I caught story time where Mrs. Susan read, "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose." I got caught laughing out loud a couple of times because Mrs. Susan had a stuffed old lady and each time she read what the little old lady swallowed, one of the kiddos stuffed it in her mouth and she swallowed it...a genius idea! Zakk stuffed conversation hearts down her throat and she almost bit his hand off...he loved it!

We brought home Zakk's goodies, had lunch and then were on our way up to Madison Elementary for Logan's party. I think Zakk was more excited for hers than he was for his! We get there and help set everything up and I chit chat with the mom's. One mom went into this story about how her son made this rainbow loom bracelet because he wanted to tie it on a valentine. She asked who it was for and he conveniently forgot. Then she says, "Logan's wearing it."
One of the mom's always comes up with the cutest games to play. Here they are trying to stack up the conversation hearts. It's harder than it looks!
This one was super cute! Each person's partner was on the other side of the room shooting q-tips through a straw and trying to make it through the paper heart they are holding up! They had a blast. I thought I was going to have to hide my q-tips at home but I got lucky!
After our Valentine's Parties we had a couple of days before we went on our big Lady Antebellum night and one of them just happened to be the best snow day ever! It was like 50 degrees and sunny and our powdery snow melted just enough to get sticky so of course we had to go out and build a snowman and have a snowball fight! And a bonus because we made sure our softball arms still worked!

Later Zakk won a gold medal at school for his excellent snowman building skills with this picture!

Best Snow Day Ever!
