For my birthday, Kevin bought me tickets for me and the girls to go see Lady Antebellum and it just so happened to be over Valentine's weekend. I gotta hand it to him, he is getting smart and making his gifts last for two holidays instead of 1! When I brought up the subject, he said the hotel room and dinner was for Valentine's and the concert was for my birthday...hmmm. He did good!
We started out our day with hockey and then headed downtown for our fun Saturday night. We checked into our hotel and headed straight for the pool...the best part of the kids night!
While the kids were swimming, I was relaxing by the pool until Zakk hollers from the pool, "MOM...WATCH...I gonna pee in the pool. So of course, me in my mean mom voice, say, "Zakk, you come here, DO NOT pee in the pool." So in his 4 year old defensive stance, he sticks his hand in the air to silence me and says, "MOM...OK...I not pee in the pool this time. That make you feel better?" Yes, yes it does...wait did he say this time.
After that we walked down to Drunken Fish next to the Sprint Center for our sushi fill. The only one we haven't gotten hooked on sushi yet is Zakk but he's getting pretty close. Now we just gotta work on Papa Tom and Uncle Marcus!
After dinner, me and the girls walked over to the Sprint Center for the concert and Zakk and Kevin went back to the hotel for more swimming.
I LOVE going to concerts! No matter what they are...except for Rock Fest...i've sworn that one off just because. Oh and I didn't want to go see Iron Maiden but it turned out to not be so bad. I always think that concerts are overpriced and I can just listen to my cd at home for a lot less money. That is, until I go to a concert and realize what the big deal is. Listening to music live is so much better than my car radio.
Kacey Musgraves and Kip Moore opened up for Lady Antebellum. Tyler really liked Kacey Muscgraves...unfortunately...not that I don't like her singing, she's pretty catchy. But not the kind of songs I really want leaving an impression on my 11 year old's mind. I'd rather her head be filled with Disney Princesses dreams and Mickey Mouse. She didn't like Kip because he cussed to much. Ha Ha! He was a little rowdy but I liked him...and he sang, Ben E. King’s Stand By Me cover which was pretty good.
I do have to hand it to Kacey for pulling out a little TLC with No Scrubs. The girls were like, "what is this mom, how do you know these words?" Ha Ha! Surely I still have my TLC cd's...might have to pull those out!

I got into a lot of trouble from, "you know who" for taking this picture and posting it on facebook. Only Logan could sleep through the last half of an extremely LOUD concert! She was a little sad that she missed the CUPS song at the end since that's what she's doing for this year's talent show.
After the concert, we walked back to the hotel and the party poopers (kevin & zakk) were already in bed! In the morning we took another swim in the pool and headed back home.
Oh and yes, Daylight savings time and a long weekend put a jolt in my sleeping schedule. Hey, at least I'm catching up with my blog!
