Best Mother's Day Ever

This last weekend I had the BEST Mother's Day EVER! It started with a Girl Scout Camping Trip at Prairie Schooner with my two favorite girls and it ended with Sushi plus my two favorite boys!

Here's the girl scouts we went on our camping trip with.  When I say camping, I mean we did all the cool stuff like zip lining, hiking, eating outdoors and watching the sunset but we actually slept in really nice new cabin with beds, A/C & Heat, showers and a full kitchen...my kind of camping!

What a great night, we started with Tyler getting to have her first time ever zipline experience.  It looked like so much fun. I wish the adults could do it. I did get to volunteer to help the girls down from the zip line which was an easy learning experience. They are accepting volunteers 10th grade and older!  I almost volunteered Kevin but then remembered that he was afraid of heights!

This was an event for Tyler's girl scout troop but Logan got to join us along with a couple other sisters from the troops. They went on a hike while the big girls were zip lining. Here they were watching them...
After the zip line we came back to the cabin for a snack and went for a hike in the woods.  The hike was great...that is until we got back and found ticks all over us.  It was worth it though. It really is a great campsite.

We toured the woods and found the tornado shelter...
And this really cool tree with vines hanging down that the girls could swing on. Logan was a pro at it...with Kaitlyn's help...

Also along the way we found a tree house, lots of pretty flowers and animal bones (I spared you those pictures even though the girls definitely made me take some)!

Then back to the campsite to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. We also had mac & cheese and these yummy crescent roll smores from the kitchen!
After dinner we took a walk up to Sunset Rock to watch the sun set. We just barely missed it but it was a pretty view and the girls loved playing on the rock. Although I was frightened to death that they were going to fall off and break an ankle but nobody did.

Oh and I almost forgot...this part is secret and I'm not supposed to be talking about it but on our way back from Sunset Rock, we went "spider sniffing."  I'm not supposed to talk about it because it's something you're only supposed to talk about at girl scout camp but it was so fun that I have to share. So everyone is walking back to the cabin in the dark but we all have flashlights and if you shine your flashlight along the edge of the path you might just catch a little sparkle from the eyes of the spiders. My old eyes never saw the sparkle but the girls were seeing them all over the place. From several feet away a girl would say, I see it and walk right up to the exact spot where the spider was...I was in awe! One of these days, maybe I'll see the sparkle but it wasn't this night...might be because I forgot my flashlight!

Then back to the cabin to sleep in our cozy bunk beds and we woke up to pancakes and sausage in the morning and this cute little sign made by one of the girl scouts...so cute! Yes, definitely my kind of camping!

After breakfast we headed back home to pick up daddy and Zakk and headed to World of Fun where we met mom and dad, Marcus, Angie, Sidney and Payton!  Logan tried to stuff her shoes with socks so she could ride on the big kid rides but she's just about 1in to short still.

After all this fun we still had energy to go out for Sushi! It was so cute because the girls brought their presents into the restaurant (and wouldn't let me peak) and made me open them at the table...just like I make them do!  Logan made me a cute little heart necklace and a note with her handprints and Tyler made me some special homemade sugar scrub.  Zakk made me a bracelet at the gym on Friday and my big boy wrote me a really sweet note!

And I got a video message from my niece Izzy. So you can see why I had such a WONDERFUL Mother's Day!
