School's Out for Summer!

Monday was the last day of school and the last day Tyler would be at Madison Elementary.  Yes, next year she's in Middle School.  I can't hardly believe it...5th grade and in Middle School?  I'm more nervous than she is!  I think the most exciting thing for her is that she gets to eat pizza every day at lunch!

Every year the school has an assembly the last day of school as a tribute to the 4th graders and they show pictures and sing songs.  All the 4th graders get a Pioneer Jaguar T-Shirt and the whole school lines up while the 4th graders run through giving High 5's!  I thought that I would be bawling at the end but I think things were just so hectic that I didn't have time to.

Just before the assembly, we had a wedding shower for Logan's teacher Ms. Slaughter because she is getting married this summer.  It was so cute!  We played a wedding version of the "Headbands" game and Ms. Slaughter and her fiance, Josh had to guess the picture on their backs while the kiddos answered their questions!

Then the whole class gave her some towels and new silverware!  It was so sweet, Ms. Slaughter said, "Now I will think of you guys every time we eat!"
Every year at Madison, I keep thinking that the teachers just can't get any better but then they do.  Ms. Slaughter was such a special teacher to Logan.  She absolutely LOVES her.  We were very sad to hear that she may not be coming back next year due to teacher cutbacks but then we just recently found out that there was an opening so she WILL be back.  We're so excited!

Every one of Tyler's teachers has been there her entire time at Madison and it just makes it seem so much more special.  Her past teachers were her test buddies in 3rd & 4th grade.  She even still hugs her preschool teacher when she sees her.  At the end of the day, Tyler handed out roses to all the teachers that she has had with this little note attached...
