Celebrating Christmas with our Families!

The best part of all the holidays is that it gives us a good time to make time to spend with our families who don't live that close to our new home!

We woke up Christmas morning in our house for the 2nd time. Of course the kiddos were the first ones up and Kevin and I were awaken by Tyler running in our room shouting, "Happy Hanukkah!"  Which put a smile on our faces and made us giggle because as you all know...we are not Jewish and don't celebrate Hanukkah!
Zakk got a Woody guitar in hopes that he will want to play this one instead of daddy's nice expensive one!

Since we don't have a Chimney, we hang our stockings from our staircase and Santa comes in using his magic key!

Daddy says, "Zakk, I am your father!"

They do LOVE each other!
After opening our presents and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus, we headed to Platte City to celebrate with my family!

See that drink in the corner...that's mom's Tom Collins...she says it's the only drink she knows how to make and it is a yummy one!

grandma made tons of really good food
Zakk got this Spiderman 4-Wheeler from his cousins and good thing because he looked pretty girly driving around on Tyler's old Barbie one!
Marcus dressed as a pink furry animal...that's actually a hat that grandma & grandpa bought for the girls...it was huge hit!

From the mouth of Logi Bear..."Look, a car with no roof!"
Are American Girls really old enough to drive?

Joe Cool in his new sunglasses!

Tyler went Lego crazy!

Logan's super cute panda hat from grandma & grandpa!
Before Christmas the girls and I always have a present making party, which goes on for days!  We have lots of fun painting and sewing and making jewelry!  I love that one day my kids are going to be all grown up and I will still be hanging their not-quite-perfect hand painted ornaments on my tree.
Tyler made all the girls a potholder this year!
Logan painted this cute reindeer ornament!
Now this next picture is my favorite.  It's a garden stake (don't mind my garden...even though it's 60 degrees outside, it's still January) and my brother Marcus made it!  I think we have creativity just running through our blood!
If this doesn't bring my garden good luck, there is no hope for it!
The weekend after Christmas, we went to Alma to celebrate with Kevin's family.  We were hoping to see Izzie get her ears pierced this weekend because she just turned 5 but she just wasn't quite ready.

Izzie getting ready to almost get her ears pierced!

Sadie looks scared...bad Kevin! Actually Kevin has this odd way of entrancing little kids into a starring match!
logan, annie, izzie, zakk, tyler & sadie...poor zakk, that's a lot of girls!

Grandma Bertie loves to feed the birds in her backyard so the girls made her a birdhouse birdfeeder...Perfect!  They used a mix of peanut butter, corn meal & flour to make the birdseed stick to the small wooden birdhouse!
Showing off their bird feeder!

After Christmas in Alma, we rang in the New Year with a LIVE band...
NEW YEAR SADIE!
