Tyler's got Middle School in the Bag!

So Tyler started middle school this year and since her 4th grade teachers said how hard it would be, I was worried about how she would adjust. I don't know why I worried at all! She's definitely fitting right!

Half of the school year is almost over and she has A's & A+'s in every class. I actually see advance classes in her future for next year. It will come to no shock to anyone that knows her, that she is in the highest reading class this year but she missed making it into Advanced Math. But it is her goal for next year and she's been working really hard at it.  I don't see any reason why she wouldn't get it.

Tyler was selected as "Student of the Month" for the month of September...

Tyler was also selected to be a "Student Ambassador" for her class. Two kids were selected from her class and it was her and her good friend Scott.  In order for her to be a student ambassador, Tyler had to write and essay on why she wanted to be one and then she had to be reviewed by one of her teachers.

I asked her which teacher she was going to have review her and I thought that she would choose her teacher Mr. Draeger because he recommended her for student of the month so of course he would give her a good recommendation but she chose her Spanish teacher, Mr. Carlise. I thought that was interesting but now I know why.

Tyler told me that Mr. Carlise stopped her in the hallway one day and asked her if she had ever had any Spanish classes before but we all know that she hasn't so she said, "no." And he said, "I thought you would have because you are so good at it." She's actually gotten an A+ on every assignment and test she has taken.  I told her it's because she watched a lot of Dora when she was little...that makes her so mad!  Apparently Dora is a baby show and NOT for middle schoolers!

Logan is also doing really well in school as she has made her reading goal which was almost impossible to get her to read every night but she did good...for the month of September anyways...October was a VERY different story but November is off to a REALLY good start. She has read every night in November so far and she fills in a calendar with her time and minutes and she was looking at it and said, "I'm starting to get interested in this now!" YAY!
