Yesterday was the first day of school for the girls! Tyler's first day at Pioneer Ridge Middle School and Logan's 1st day in 2nd grade at Madison. Two different schools and it'll take me a while to get used to. Luckily, Tyler rode with her friend Holly so they could walk in together. I thought I would get to relax until Logan went to school but I noticed that Tyler left her schedule and I knew she'd be a nervous wreck when she realized she didn't have it so we took it up to her.
Then we took Logan to school and walked her in. I don't have to worry about Logan. As soon as she walked in the door, she went right up to a teacher and asked where Ms. George's class is and then the teacher took her there and she sat with her friends. Not the shy little mommy's girl that wouldn't let me put her down anymore! But she'll always be a mommy's girl! They both will!
Logan with her classmates! I think Logan has 4 other kiddos in her class that were the same as last year so that made her happy!
At meet the teacher night last week, Tyler found out that she has a male teacher again this year. That's ok by me and I'm pretty sure she actually likes the guy teachers better. While we were at meet the teacher night, Tyler tried out her locker for the first time. It took her and her daddy a couple tries but they finally figured it out and I think she has it down now. This year Tyler will spend most of her time in her homeroom class but she does get to move around a bit to her electives. She's excited for the change but I'm sure she'll be a little nervous until she gets the hang of it.
Logan's meet the teacher night seemed so easy. Now that we've done it so many times. She was sooooo excited to see her friends and her old teachers. Her 1st grade teacher got married over the summer and she actually remembered her new name and called her by it! She's definitely ready for 2nd grade!
This is Logan with her duct tape flower ring that she made. You can see she's got it on for meet the teacher night above! Yes, it's as big as it looks and covers almost her entire little hand.
Poor Zakk must have been feeling neglected at meet the teacher night because I think he told every single person that we stopped to talk to about his trip with Grandma & Grandpa to LegoLand. He even told them about the movie he watched and it got him all wet. He's not the shy boy who hides when someone talks to him anymore either!
