Smoky Hill River Festival

Last weekend, Tyler and I traveled to Salina to help grandma with her craft show.  It was a good thing we did, because she was so busy all weekend.
It was nice to spend some alone time with Tyler to.  On the way down there we finished book 2 of Harry Potter and started book 3.

The Smoky Hill River Festival is a wonderful festival filled with artists, music, dancing, sculptures made on the spot and a really cool kids area full of crafts that is completely free.

One day we passed this and it was just a black board and the next day...graffiti art!!

There is a booth that you can design a button and they make it into a button for you.  Here is what Tyler's button said...

Grandma + Mommy + Me = Best Trip Ever

She's so sweet.  She even made her sister a button and a book mark (she made matching book marks that read, big sis & little sis) and bought her a purse.  She made Zakk a Bobby Day button and a fruit loop necklace.  I have to say he went crazy over the fruit loop necklace and wouldn't stop wearing it until he ate it up...which wasn't long.

This mural is painted on one of the walls in the park...
On the way back home, I dropped Tyler off in Alma where she is spending the week to prepare for her "Night at the Museum" performance on Friday!!  I can't wait to see it, she was super excited!

  1. Oh fun! We really need to pick up our pace on HP.... we started HP4 last summer and we are still only half way through. The school year just seems to get in the way.
